New partnership gives TripIt users information and instant-booking access to airport lounges; Adds VIP benefit for TripIt Pro members.
SAN FRANCISCO – TripIt from Concur announced a partnership with LoungeBuddy that gives TripIt users information on more than 2,500 airport lounges and the ability to instantly book a pass at over 100 airport lounges worldwide-all right from the TripIt app. TripIt Pro members will also receive a credit to use toward booking a lounge pass on LoungeBuddy.
“Airport lounge rules are complicated, and the amenities, costs and benefits can vary widely from lounge to lounge. No one has the time or energy to look through it all when they are at the airport and looking for a place to rest and relax,” said Jen Moyse, head of product at TripIt from Concur. “Our new partnership with LoungeBuddy makes it easy to sort through it all and find what you need, when you need it-right within TripIt.”
Through the partnership, TripIt users can now easily see the lounges available at the airports they are flying in and out of. Users will see the lounge name, location and operating hours, along with an overview of the lounge that includes the amenities offered, photos of the lounge and reviews from fellow travelers.
“Whether you are on vacation and looking for somewhere to unwind during a layover, or on a business trip and need a place to be productive in between flights-we take the guesswork out of finding the right lounge for what you need,” said Tyler Dikman, CEO of LoungeBuddy. “Thanks to our partnership with TripIt, we now have the ability to help even more travelers find, book, and access their airport oasis.”
TripIt Pro members will also get a one-time $25 credit to use on a lounge pass, as part of the TripIt Pro VIP Benefits program. When travelers book a lounge pass through LoungeBuddy they can forward the reservation, just like any other travel plan, to plans@tripit.com to have it added to their TripIt account. Then, when they arrive at the airport they can easily pull up their lounge pass information right from the TripIt app.
Lounge information is available on the TripIt iOS and Android apps. Booking a lounge pass starts in the TripIt iOS or Android app and is completed in the LoungeBuddy app. TripIt Pro members can redeem their $25 lounge credit via the TripIt iOS and Android apps, or at TripIt.com.
