Hyatt Ziva celebrates grand opening in Cancun

Among many exciting features, Hyatt Ziva boasts an in-house microbrewery ­ the first of its kind in Cancun, a sweets shop, nine restaurants, swim-up suites and areas for both families and adults.

CANCUN, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO – Last week, the all-inclusive, Hyatt Ziva Cancun was host to more than 800 guests and travel industry leaders from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe, as they gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Hyatt’s new, 547-suite all-inclusive resort in Punta Cancun, one of Mexico’s most exclusive locations.

Laura Fernandez Pina, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, along with Roberto Cabrales, SECTUR’s Director of Planning, and Francisco Lopez Reyes, Director of Municipal Tourism joined Carlos Cabrera, SVP, Global All Inclusive Operations for Hyatt, Bruce Wardinski, Chairman & CEO of Playa Hotels & Resorts and Alex Stadlin, Chief Executive Officer for Playa Resorts Management and other key executives, in a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of Hyatt Ziva Cancun.

“2016 starts the best way with the opening of Hyatt Ziva Cancun,” said Fernandez Pina. “Establishments like Hyatt Ziva bring prestige, tourists and generate more jobs for the region,” she added.

The Grand opening gala featured a Mayan-themed fiesta complete with fire dancers, live music and authentic food.

“Our goal for this resort was to pay homage to the history of the destination, while creating a resort like no other in Cancun,” said Playa Resorts CEO Alex Stadlin. “We’re proud of our staff who have spent months preparing for this opening. Everyone is dedicated to the same common goal – ensuring that every guest experiences our genuine Service from the Heart.”
