LATAM Airlines Group improves connectivity from the US with new nonstop service between Santiago and Los Angeles

LAN Airlines will operate this route three times per week during high season (October 16, 2016 to March 25, 2017). With this new flight, the airline expects to transport an additional 27,000 passengers between Los Angeles and Santiago.

SANTIAGO – LAN Airlines, part of LATAM Airlines Group, begins ticket sales for its nonstop service between Los Angeles and Santiago, which will operate three times per week between October 16, 2016 and March 25, 2017.

LAN’s nonstop Los Angeles-Santiago route will depart from Los Angeles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from Santiago on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  The new nonstop service will shorten travel times by 2 hours and 20 minutes when compared to flights with layovers from Los Angeles to Santiago. Thanks to agreements with partner airlines, South American passengers traveling through Chile to the US will enjoy shorter connection times from Los Angeles to 60 destination within the United States and additional destinations in Asia.

LATAM Airlines Group’s connectivity to North America
Today, LATAM Airlines Group offers extensive connectivity options between the United States (Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Orlando and Washington), Canada (Toronto, via New York), and Chile, reaching a total of 75 weekly flights from the United States and Canada to Chile.

Currently, the Los Angeles-Santiago route (via Lima) offers 14 weekly flights, enabling LAN to transport approximately 150,000 passengers annually. With the addition of the new nonstop service between Los Angeles to Santiago, the carrier expects to add another 27,000 passengers.

LAN’s 787-8 will operate the new nonstop route, which is among the industry’s most modern jetliner, with 217 seats in Economy Class and another 30 full-flat seats in Premium Business Class. The aircraft also offers the latest in personal inflight entertainment, which features 110 movies, with six premiering every month and ten of Latin America’s best movies, as well as 40 TV series, 1,300 CD’s and more than 20 games, allowing passengers to play alone or to compete against other passengers.
