Accomable, the 'Expedia for the mobility sector', sets sights on over 50s market

Launched in June 2015, Accomable now offers more than 300 properties in the UK and worldwide, with many more on the way.

Accomable, a new online service to help people with mobility problems or a disability find accessible holiday properties, is set to expand as it targets the over 50s market.

Dubbed the Expedia for the mobility sector, Accomable links people with physical disabilities (founder of Accomable, Srin Madipalli has SMA and uses a motorised wheelchair) to accessible hotels and accommodation worldwide.

Launched in June 2015, Accomable now offers more than 300 properties in the UK and worldwide, with many more on the way. Having previously targeted mostly independent hotels and apartments, the company’s growing success in the disabled travel market, has prompted a move to approach larger hotels and chains to serve their growing over 50s customer base.

Srin Madipalli, said, “We have seen huge interest in our accessible accommodation across the UK, and are looking to work with larger hotels and chains, as well as more fantastic small hotels, to cater for our growing market.

“As a disabled person, I know it can be incredibly difficult to find and book accommodation which suits my needs, which is why we built Accomable. But we’ve also discovered a huge number of over 50s customers, who are looking for hotels and properties with step-free access, who we are working with closely to ensure we accommodate their needs.”
