42% of Americans, traveling this holiday season, don’t fear spreading COVID-19

Nearly 30% of Americans traveling for the holidays don’t fear contracting COVID-19, while 42% don’t fear spreading infection.

Many Americans report they won’t be traveling to see friends and family this year. Although we're advised to stay home, are those Americans who are choosing to travel this holiday season taking the necessary precautions?

COVID-19 has placed travel on a brief halt and as the holidays creep are around the corner, coupon engine couponfollow.com surveyed over 1,000 Americans about their perceptions of traveling this holiday season. Here's what we found:

  • Nearly 30% of Americans traveling for the holidays don’t fear contracting COVID-19, while 42% don’t fear spreading infection 
  • Almost 1 in 5 people who plan to travel during the holidays say they won’t wear a mask around family members
  • For those NOT choosing to travel, 77% are doing it because they fear it will infect loved ones with COVID-19
