Ghana tourism delegation on US visit to promote ATA congress
A Ghana Tourism delegation led by Hon. Stephan K. Asmoah Boateng, MP, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City is on US Promotional Tour beginning in New York City on March 7, and continuing to Los Angeles, March 9 and Atlanta, March 10. The purpose of the visit is to promote ATA’s 31st Annual International Congress, Marketing Conference, and Convocation of African Tourism Ministers, in Accra, Ghana, April 30 to May 5, 2006. Accompanying the Deputy Minister will be Ms. Jennifer Zuleika, personal assistant and Edward E. Komla, Director of Tourism.
The ATA Congress will be hosted by Hon. Jake Obetsebi- Lamptey, MP,Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City and the official opening will take place in the presence of His Excellency John Agyekum Kuffuor, President of the Republic of Ghana. The Congress Chair will be Deputy Minister, Hon. Stephan K Asmoah Boateng, ATA President, Hon. Kabinga J. Pande, MP, Minister of Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources of the Republic of Zambia, will be leading the opening day program. The Conference theme is Ghana - A Golden Experience, Unique Culture and Unforgettable Adventure. The conference hotels will be La Palm Royal Beach Hotel (Conference Headquarters) and Labadi Beach Hotel.
Congress Highlights
Program highlights and special events include Host Country Day on Monday May 1, on which delegates will be taken on a full day tour including colorful and unique cultural presentations. Other conference activities include Doing Business Together, featuring Roundtable Meetings between North American and Ghana Tour Operators, Organizers and Ground Operators; an ATA Chapter Presidents Forum will be held on Sunday, April 30 and the ATA Annual Meeting and Election for the ATA Board of Directors and Executive Committee will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2006.

North American Airlines is the Official Flagship Carrier for the Congress with direct flights to Accra from JFK International Airport in New York City. Special rates for qualified ATA delegates are also available on British Airways, Northwest/KLM, Lufthansa and Emirates Airlines (via Dubai).
