The Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne (EHL) has appointed Ruud Reuland as General Manager
The leading international business school for the hospitality industry, Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne, recently appointed Mr Ruud Reuland as General Manager. As EHL<.>`s General Manager, Mr Ruud Reuland (51) will be responsible for running the School with the Executive Board and managing the institution`s staff. His role will be to consolidate EHL`s leadership position as a business school for the hospitality industry providing a top-quality education and consultancy services, delivered by world -class faculty and staff at all levels. He will also be in charge of developing international partnerships with top players in the hospitality industry and will represent EHL internationally.

I am a person who is passionate about hospitality education, said Mr Reuland, so I am particularly happy to have been chosen to lead this prestigious institution. I`m looking forward to the challenge very much.

Mr Reuland`s appointment was based on his extensive experience in the education and the hospitality industry, says Marco Torriani, President of the school`s Board of Governors. We`re delighted to have attracted a candidate of Mr Reuland`s calibre who will drive the School to be the premier provider of business management education for the hospitality industry.

Prior to joining EHL, Mr Reuland was the Dean of the Hotelschool The Hague in the Netherlands. He was responsible for the business and curriculum development of the school as well as the management of 80 lecturers and represented the school at international industry events. He also occupies various positions in industry bodies, such as the Dutch Association of Hotel Schools.

Ruud Reuland started his professional career as the Director of Human Resources at a hospital in Haarlem, Netherlands, before joining the Hotelschool The Hague in 1978 as a part-time lecturer. He worked his way up, holding several positions such as Director of Research and then Director of Consultancy and Training before becoming Dean at the school in 1997.

Mr Reuland holds a Bachelor`s degree in Hotel Management from Hotelschool The Hague as well as a Master`s degree in Business Law from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Before going to university, he worked in various hotels in the Netherlands and Ireland. Ruud Reuland is a Dutch native and speaks fluent Dutch, English and German.
