Conrad deploys new GDS chain code
The contemporary luxury hotel brand, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, is set to launch its own dedicated GDS Chain Code “CN”. The new GDS code takes effect on September 19, 2007, from which date all Conrad hotels and resorts around the world will be available using the unique “CN” designation.
Conrad Hotels & Resorts will no longer be visible under the “HH” code of the Hilton Family of Hotels, where it has been found since the brand`s inception. However, Conrad will remain accessible under the “EH” (Every Hilton) code, and via all reservation numbers, including 1 800 CONRADS (US only). The web addresses of ConradHotels.com and ConradMeetings.com will not change and Conrad Hotels & Resorts will continue to provide the Conrad luxury services for which the brand is known.
Said Richard Blamey, SVP Brand Management, Conrad Hotels & Resorts “Conrad`s new GDS code is part of an ongoing strategy to further increase the visibility of Conrad Hotels & Resorts amongst the travel community, and to highlight its image as a strong, stand-alone contemporary luxury brand. The change complements our updated ‘Hotels & Resorts’ identity, which more accurately reflects our collection of extraordinary hotels and resorts across the globe.”
Explained Neal Watson, Director Distribution Sales, Hilton Hotels Corporation, “This move to own a specific Conrad GDS code has been designed to meet the needs of travel agents around the world and will provide a global solution within the GDS. Furthermore, it will serve to position the brand`s luxury offering more clearly with the travel trade and consortia in providing a new and unique identity.”
Conrad Hotels & Resorts will undertake a number of phases for implementation including a distinct marketing and advertising campaign to support the change.
