.travel limited launch second phase to commence November 2nd, 2005! (October 28, 2005)
Beginning of Phase Two: Limited Launch
October 28, 2005 - Pre-authentication that was restarted on October 3rd, 2005 will be handled on a rolling basis, in monthly groupings, as follows:
- Pre-authentication that restarted on October 3rd came to and end on October 27th, the last day of the October pre-authentication period. All those travel entities that are pre-authenticated in October must wait until 09:00 EST (New York time) on November 2, 2005 to register the names they are eligible for and have selected.
- Starting again at 09:00 EST on November 2nd, 2005 Authentication Providers will take pre-authentication submissions following the same methodology as has been followed in October and the months before. The last date for pre-authentication in November will be the 26th, with selected and available domain names being provisioned starting December 2nd.
- The final pre-authentication period (third phase) will begin on December 2nd and it will end on December 26th, 2005. Domain names authenticated in that period can be registered as of 09:00 EST on January 2nd, 2006.
- The full, global launch of the .travel Registry will begin at 09:00 EST on January 2nd, 2006, at which point authentication and domain name registrations will take place concurrently and will continue from that date forward uninterrupted.
If you have been pre-authenticated and have a Unique Identification Number (UIN)
please pre-register your domain name(s) with any of the .travel registrars listed on our web site under “Registrars” to have your name(s) registered on December 2nd, 2005.
If you have an interest in registering any of the registered names, trade names, DBA’s, trademarks, or service marks that you use in your travel business as
.travel domain names,
we urge you to get pre-authenticated as of November 2nd, 2005! Go to the
