“This is a major milestone in Eastern Airways’ history,” said Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer. “We introduced our first international route in 2005 from Southampton to Brussels and this launch is our first French connection, also from the south coast of England.”
“Angers is in the heart of the Loire Valley, and this service will not only appeal to holidaymakers, but also those travelling on business as the region is renowned for its wine production, truck manufacturing, liqueur, tourism and technology industries.”
Jan Halliday, Southampton Airport’s marketing and communications director, said: “We are delighted to see Eastern Airways’ add France to its route network from Southampton. We are firmly committed to providing Hampshire travellers with a wide variety of destinations from Southampton to Europe. As well as benefiting tourists visiting the Loire Valley, those travelling inbound to Hampshire can take full advantage of the many tourist attractions on offer in our region.”
