Changes to Qantas international fuel surcharges
Qantas announced that it would increase international fuel surcharges for tickets issued on or after 17 January. Qantas Executive General Manager, Mr John Borghetti, said the increases were a response to record fuel prices.

"The price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil passed US$100 a barrel last week, and Singapore Jets Fuel is currently trading at around US$114 a barrel," Mr Borghetti said.

The new one way fuel surcharges ($A and ex-Australia) will be:

 

Mr Borghetti said that, at this stage, there would be no change to the airline's existing Australian and New Zealand domestic surcharges.

Australian domestic surcharges will remain at $26 for Qantas and QantasLink jet services and $24 for QantasLink turboprop services (both including GST).
