Air Berlin partners with ARINC
ARINC Incorporated has installed advanced AviNet Type B business networking service for Air Berlin, the second largest airline in Germany and one of the fastest growing in Europe as the company announced. ARINC won the new 3-year service contract in competitive bidding, and is currently deploying AviNet MQ service for the carrier.

According to ARINC, with AviNet MQ, Air Berlin enjoys expanded capability for Type B messaging with its trading partners. The MQ technology offers efficient protocol translation and is a highly reliable way for Air Berlin to send and receive IATA Type B messages.

“ARINC is delighted to welcome one of Europe’s most respected airlines as a new customer for our AviNet MQ networking service,” stated Dave Poltorak, ARINC’s Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA. “Air Berlin will realize new efficiencies and cost savings from our routing optimization, protocol handling, and cost-effective rates.”

“We are rapidly expanding Air Berlin services and destinations today, and we carefully evaluated the proposals we received for this contract,” stated Kai Gottschlich, Air Berlin CIO. “ARINC’s MQ technology will support our business growth efficiently, and their Type B service rates offered real value.”
