The ASEAN Green Hotel Standard is based on 11 criterias: environmental policies, use of green products; collaboration with the community and local organizations; human resource development; solid waste management; energy efficiency; water efficiency; air quality management, noise pollution control, waste water treatment management and chemical substance disposal management.
The Green Hotel Standard is one of the six ASEAN Tourism Standards that the ASEAN member countries have considered essential in helping ASEAN to be a quality destination.
The award was made during the Asean Tourism Forum held in Bangkok.
