All-business class airline Silverjet has recently announced strong passenger traffic figures for the month of February, reporting a 65% load factor – up 10% from January. The company attributes these positive results in part to the new Dubai route, which continues to perform strongly and witness high levels of advance bookings - a testament to the market’s strong response to Silverjet.
Lawrence Hunt, Chief Executive of Silverjet, said: “In February, we witnessed a surge in bookings and recognize that our Dubai route has played a key role. With a growing number of repeat customers, our Dubai service continues to go from strength to strength, helping drive the company’s overall growth.”
A contributing factor to the success of the Dubai route is the carrier’s strong operational performance. According to the latest official CAA figures, Silverjet achieved an 87% on-time departure record in February and has been the most punctual airline for the second consecutive month.
Indeed, the carrier remains confident that it is on course for profit: “The board is making every effort to ensure that Silverjet will achieve its first month of operating profit and be cash generative in March 2008,” added Hunt.
