Travelocity and Virgin America announced an official distribution agreement to make the new California-based carrier’s flights available for Travelocity customers. Virgin America flights will also soon be added to Travelocity vacation packages and the famous, deal-scouting Travelocity Roaming Gnome will be dropping in on select Virgin America flights this Spring to surprise guests.
"Virgin America is a great new option for our customers and we are excited to add their content to our booking engine,” said Simon Bramley, Vice President of Flights for Travelocity. “The Roaming Gnome recently took a test flight on Virgin America from San Francisco to Las Vegas and proclaimed the service and entertainment system ‘brilliant.’”
Launched in August 2007, Virgin America currently flies to seven cities with daily flights from: SFO to LAX, SFO to JFK, SFO to SAN, SFO to IAD, SFO to LAS, LAX to JFK, LAX to IAD and now SFO to SEA. In addition to these nonstop markets, Virgin America also offers convenient connecting flights from Las Vegas, San Diego, and Seattle to New York and Washington.
“Travelocity and Virgin America are both known for providing high value to savvy travelers, a focus on innovative customer service and for bringing a sense of fun back to travel, so we are thrilled to announce this relationship,” said Virgin America President and Chief Executive Officer David Cush. “Travelocity is a trusted and important distribution channel that will help us reach new customers as we grow to serve up to 30 cities within our first five years. The Roaming Gnome knows a good travel deal when he sees one, and we can’t wait for him to drop in and surprise guests on some of our flights this Spring.”
