Jet2.com has announced two brand new scheduled, low cost services from Newcastle International airport this summer – Corfu and Rhodes. The two Greek island destinations went on sale on 21 April with the first flights departing the North East in June – the first for a low cost carrier operating scheduled flights out of Newcastle.
The new services operated by Jet2.com from Newcastle reinforces the continued expansion programme of the North’s leading low cost operator out of the base.
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: “The announcement of our new services to Corfu and Rhodes is fantastic news for the North East. Both destinations have lacked direct, scheduled and, importantly, low cost services from Newcastle and we’re delighted to be launching them today.
“Both are stunningly beautiful islands, hugely popular with holidaymakers from the UK and we expect a huge influx of travellers on our flights and package holiday deals– from families and couples after the captivating culture of the islands, to the thousands of young people looking to sample the summer party spirit.”
