In a move that will create a significant focal point for the UK meeting and events calendar, the National Meetings Week will take place this year from the 15th – 21st September 2008. The new dates align the campaign with Event UK* (16-17 September).
“The 15th – 21st September this year will be a landmark week for our industry; we have the largest campaign in National Meetings Week, and one of the key shows in Event UK,” commented Joss Croft, Head of Business Visits & Events at VisitBritain and campaign coordinator. “It is a massive showcasing opportunity for UK meetings and events, and a great way to bring the industry together.”
The campaign, now in its eighth year has become a truly inclusive event with wide spread support. Last year over 20 events took place across the UK.
Duncan Reid, Event Director for Event UK commented: “Both Event UK and National Meetings Week represent a celebration in the very best of the UK meetings and events industry; it’s a natural fit for both ourselves and our exhibitors.”
In February VisitBritain announced it would be taking ownership of the campaign in a bid to broaden the week’s appeal across the UK.
*Previously known as the National Venue Show.
