Alitalia signs agreement with IATA
Alitalia confirmed that the company's Extraordinary Administrator has signed a contract with IATA to assume the BSP and CASS Agreements, and a security deposit has been provided to IATA to offer an additional reassurance to the travelling public, IATA Agents and other ISS Participating Airlines.

As confirmed yesterday by IATA, "as far as BSP and CASS processing is concerned it is 'business as usual,' with no disruption to data processing, remittances or settlements."

This move follows Alitalia's decision to file for bankruptcy protection with the Italian Court on 29 August 2008, in order to provide protection from its creditors while it completes the restructuring process.

While the reorganisation process is being carried out, operations are continuing to run as usual.
