Sandman Hotel Group receives a four Green Key Eco-Rating
Sandman Hotel Group is pleased to announce that all of its Sandman Hotels, Suites and Sandman Signature properties from Montreal through Vancouver, have now earned their Green Key Rating by the Hotel Association of Canada’s Green Key Eco-Rating Program.

The Green Key Eco-Rating Program is a voluntary program designed to recognize hotels that have taken significant steps towards sustainability through participation in environmental programs, best management practices, training programs, and engineering solutions which have benefited the environment and the local community. For a Four Green Key Rating, each of the hotels have demonstrated national industry leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through its wide-ranging policies and practices in the areas of energy conservation, water conservation, solid waste management, community outreach, and building infrastructure to name but a few. They have mature environmental programs in place that involve management, employees, guests, and the public, and have shown substantial and measurable results.

Recently, a new chain-wide room recycling program was launched to try and encourage guests to recycle. The new recycling program makes it easy for guests to divert unnecessary waste from going into landfills. In addition, by working with third party partners to make group pick up and deliveries, each Sandman Hotel has made an effort to try to decrease its carbon footprint and avoid unnecessary pollution.
