Hostelworld’s map application takes off with award win
Hostelworld.com were celebrating after a successful night at the Inspired IT awards in Dublin where they picked up an award in the hospitality travel and transport section for the Hostelworld.com map application. The Inspired IT awards were created by iReach to recognize the heads of IT and their teams for their strategic role in helping to drive competitiveness and place Ireland at the forefront of knowledge creation and IT innovation globally.

Hostelworld.com’s map application feature allows users to plan their routes on a Google maps platform and to plot route lines for each major trip. Users can view and book hostels for their trip and share their trip plans with friends and family. The application also works as a Facebook application, enabling ‘Hostelworlders’ to share trip plans with their Facebook friends.
