The Yeatman, a new top quality 5 star hotel in Oporto, Portugal will be presented in FITUR, Madrid
Currently under construction, The Yeatman is a wine hotel located on a world UNESCO site renowned for its Port wine cellars. Built on a series of terraces, with panoramic views over the River Douro and the city of Oporto, the hotel boasts 12 suites and 70 bedrooms, each with a terrace and private garden. The hotel will also have a gastronomic restaurant, a Port bar and lounge with 11 meeting and event rooms. Adjoining the hotel will be a beautiful wine spa with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, gymnasium, children’s club and magnificent garden.

Francisco Franco Afonso, the General Manager of The Yeatman, states “The Spanish market will be one of our top 3 markets and FITUR provides us with the ideal platform to launch this exciting project and establish its positioning amongst the luxury hotels of the world. We hope to deliver an authentic and luxurious experience for people visiting Oporto and an unforgettable wine experience.”

The Yeatman forms part of a family owned company called The Fladgate Partnership, owners of the distinguished names of Taylor’s, Croft and Fonseca Ports. Established over 300 years ago, the company is already involved in tourism with visitor centres, a restaurant and catering company in Vila Nova de Gaia together with a tasting room and vineyard visits at Quinta do Panascal in the Douro Valley.

The Yeatman has been considered as a PIN Project (Project of National Interest) by the Portuguese government. The hotel is due to open in June 2010. Vicky Karantzavelou - Friday, January 23, 2009
