Airlinecenter to handle all sales, marketing and reservation activities
Aviareps has been commissioned by the British airline Blue Islands as its external representation company in Switzerland. The appointment of the world’s leading General Sales Agent (GSA) is part of Blue Islands’ ongoing expansion programme into the Swiss market. The focus of the new cooperation is to support the increased capacity on the Channel Islands routes to Geneva and Zurich.

Airlinecenter, Aviareps’ subsidiary located in Zurich, will immediately begin conducting all sales, marketing and reservation activities in the Swiss market on behalf of Blue Islands. Airlinecenter’s General Manager Thomas Welti will be responsible for the successful representation of the airline, which is headquartered on the main Channel Island, Jersey.

Since the introduction of flights between Jersey and the Swiss metropolises Geneva and Zurich in 2007, Blue Islands has increased frequency to a twice-daily connection (except Saturday) - with a morning flight to Geneva and an afternoon flight to Zurich. With this schedule the carrier meets the high demand of business travellers for these flights.

Although Blue Islands’ flight plan primarily caters to the demands of the corporate market, it is also useful for leisure travellers: tourists from the Channel Islands use the services of Blue Islands on their way to winter sports resorts near Geneva and Zurich. On the other hand, leisure travellers from Switzerland are often visitors to the Channel Islands.

“Blue Islands has dedicated large parts of its capacity to corporate travellers. We look very much forward to cooperating with this successful niche player and are sure that both parties will benefit from the synergetic effects of this collaboration,” states Thomas Welti, General Manager of Airlinecenter - Aviareps’ subsidiary in Switzerland.
