Airline reconnects the Queen City and the City of Light after eight-year hiatus
US Airways resumed a third trans-Atlantic offering from its largest hub in Charlotte to Paris’ Charles De Gaulle Airport after an eight-year hiatus. The nonstop service is flown on Boeing 767 aircraft with seating for 18 in Envoy, US Airways’ trans-Atlantic business class, and 186 in the main cabin.

US Airways Chairman and CEO Doug Parker said, “US Airways is delighted to bring service to another popular trans-Atlantic destination to the Charlotte community with our Paris flight. In addition to offering our customers non-stop service from Charlotte to three destinations in Europe now, we’re looking forward to beginning our first-ever service to South America this fall with daily non-stop service between Charlotte and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.”

US Airways currently serves London’s Gatwick Airport and Frankfurt International Airport from its Charlotte hub and also codeshares with Star Alliance member carrier Lufthansa on Munich service from Charlotte. Tatiana Rokou - Friday, April 24, 2009
