Business Travel Group praises globalentry partnership
The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the voice of the business travel industry, applauded the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for implementation of the FLUX Alliance, which will allow pre-approved, low-risk travelers from the Netherlands and the United States mutual participation in their international trusted traveler programs. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched the joint program with Dutch officials during a press conference at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Kevin Maguire, CCTE, GLP, NBTA President & CEO, said, “NBTA congratulates DHS on this landmark agreement with the Netherlands. Extending the program’s benefits to foreign travelers further enhances the benefits of international registered traveler programs. We look forward to future agreements with additional countries as an important step to facilitating international business travel. We also urge CBP to expand the airport locations where Global Entry equipment can process members to the top 20 international airports.”

The FLUX Alliance allows citizens of the Netherlands to apply for the U.S. Global Entry Program and U.S. citizens to enroll in the Netherlands’s Privium program for expedited entry into Amsterdam. Applicants will be subject to threat assessments and must pay the enrollment fee for both programs. Theodore Koumelis - Monday, April 27, 2009
