Event organisations line up to champion industry priorities
Joss Croft,
VisitBritain’s Head of Business Visits and Events, has been announced as facilitator for the forthcoming association summit alongside Portfolio Director for
Confex Group Duncan Reid.
The summit will take place ahead of Event UK on Monday 21st September at the Macdonald Burlington. The focus of the summit is to build on the work of the Business Visits & Events Partnership, which currently brings together over 20 industry bodies, and to continue championing the industry and its need for wider government support. Another ambition of the summit is to continue to build a skills and professional development strategy for the sector.
It will bring together representatives from the various associations and provide an ideal opportunity for all to reaffirm their commitment to working together and discuss increased support for existing and potentially new initiatives. Those who have confirmed attendance include ABPCO, ACE, AEME, AEO, AEV, BVEP, EFAPCO, ESSA, Eventia, HBAA, ICCA, ISES, MIA, MPI, NOEA and SITE UK.
“We’re delighted that Joss has agreed to facilitate the summit and the commitment that we have had from the associations” Comments Duncan Reid, Portfolio Director for Confex Group.
“It will be a great opportunity for all to share their views on what we can do collectively to build on the work already underway, as well as garner greater support for the industry and encourage best practice. I’m looking forward to sharing the key points and outcomes discussed following the summit and hope it will act as a springboard to further enhance the industry’s profile and professionalism.”
