BMB fuel implements leading fuel efficiency solution for Air New Zealand
MB Fuel Services Inc. of Ottawa, Canada announced that it has implemented the first release of its Aviation Fuel Decision Support (AFDS) solution for Air New Zealand Limited, a member of the Star Alliance global airline network. Under the terms of a multi-year agreement, BMB Fuel’s groundbreaking Aviation Fuel Decision Support (AFDS) solution will become an integral component of Air New Zealand’s Fuel Conservation Programme and the key driver behind the carrier’s FuelSMART platform.

Fuel Conservation a Top Priority
Providing complete visibility of the operational systems that affect airline fuel efficiencies on a single, integrated platform, AFDS will enable Air New Zealand “to drive further fuel and emissions savings through detailed monitoring of fuel usage and the tracking of our fuel saving initiatives” noted Captain David Morgan, General Manager Airline Operations and Safety for the Auckland-based carrier.

“Air New Zealand takes their environmental responsibilities extremely seriously; hence this significant investment in a state of the art fuel efficiency monitoring, analysis and reporting tool” said Tony Steer, Fuel Conservation Manager for Air New Zealand.

“The successful roll-out of AFDS, which follows the signing of our agreement with Air New Zealand earlier this year, marks a positive progression in the strategic co-operation between our companies” added Andrew Jones, BMB Fuel’s Vice President Operations.

Impact of Rising Fuel Costs on Airlines
Against the backdrop of rising fuel costs and environmental pressures, BMB Fuel has answered the call for a comprehensive fuel efficiency and emissions management solution with this major deployment of AFDS.

“The airline sector can look with confidence to AFDS as a viable means of identifying and realizing difficult-to-achieve fuel efficiency savings", noted Bob Kelland, President of BMB Fuel. Accessible anywhere via the Internet, powerful AFDS analytics and reporting help airlines to effectively optimize their fuel consumption, understand their fuel spend, and to manage their emissions targets.
