Vueling introduces PayPal payment option
Vueling, the new-generation airline, has improved its range of payment options by introducing PayPal, an online payment system which is being used by 36% of European online shoppers, according to Forrester Research (European Technographics Media, Marketing and Retail Online Survey, Q3 2007 and Q3 09).

Vueling has become the first and only Spanish airline to offer Paypal as a payment option, as a result of the airline’s constant quest for product and service standard improvement, enabling customers to enjoy the Vueling experience right from point of sale.

From day one, Vueling has led the way in innovation: it was the first airline to offer seat-assignment at the moment of purchase and in September, it introduced the mobile-phone boarding option in all flights departing from Barcelona, Madrid and Bilbao airports. Vueling has also launched products which are perfectly suited for the business passenger, such as the Flex fare, which allows for time and date changes, refunds and cancellations.

he new payment method is particularly appropriate for those passengers living outside the Euro zone, as PayPal operates with 24 different currencies, with no need for conversion. It will also come in handy for consumers living in Vueling’s new destinations outside the European Union, where the company now has a presence as a result of its recent merger with Clickair, effective from July 15th.

Before its integration with Clickair, Vueling used to fly to 26 airports in eight countries, all of them inside the Euro zone. With the merger, Vueling’s network has been greatly enlarged and the company now serves 46 airports in 17 different countries in Europe and North Africa; of these, eight have currencies other than the Euro: the United Kingdom, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, and Morocco.

In addition to PayPal, Vueling accepts payment by Visa debit and credit cards, as well as Mastercard and American Express. It also has its own credit card, Vueling Visa, which accrues points with Punto, Vueling’s own frequent-flyer program-not only when booking flights but also in other general purchases.
