English Golf Union receives EGCOA Award 2009
The English Golf Union (EGU) received the annual EGCOA Award during the European Golf Business Conference last week in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The award was given to The English Golf Union for their important contribution to the English golf business and the stream of knowledge and development that the EGU brings to the owners and operators in England.
The annual EGCOA Award is given to organizations or individuals who made an important contribution to develop the golf business. Among the initiatives executed by the winner during 2008 was a number of golf club marketing workshops and “EGU at the Heart of Golf Conferences”. During 2009 the EGU continued with 10 advanced golf marketing workshops and launched the EGU Golf Central club marketing portal which helps golf clubs so significantly improve their web marketing to the mass online audience.
The EGCOA Award that honoured The English Golf Union was given to David Croxton, board member of the EGU, Trevor Williams and Paul Keeling responsible for club services at the EGU by the president of the EGCOA Marcel Welling. The award ceremony was held during the Dinner Event on the Thursday evening of the European Golf Business Conference and took place on a boat trip in Amsterdam.
The conference organized by European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) continued under “The Next Step” theme, aiming to reveal the future opportunities for the European golf industry. The 2009 European Golf Business Conference was held at the Renaissance Hotel, in Amsterdam, from December 2-4, 2009.
