Key US and Canadian travel agents visit Greece first hand
Athens, Greece, April 15-27, 2010- Royal Olympic Athens and Hellenic American Chamber of Tourism are hosting two, 9-day familiarization trips for key US and Canadian travel agents to visit Greece first hand. The purpose of the event is to increase Greek tourism by guiding travel agents through popular tourist destinations, historical sites and a 3 day cruise.

Agents will attend workshops and networking events with Greek suppliers, to facilitate the development of working business relationships that will lead to an increase in travel and tourism to Greece. Already confirmed among the attendees are American Express Travel, Four Seasons Travel, Liberty Travel, and Carlson Wagonlit.

Greece has been experiencing a decline in the travel and tourism industry, which has directly affected many local businesses. Royal Olympic Athens and Hellenic American Chamber of Tourism are looking to put Greece back into the global tourism spotlight through targeted marketing campaigns and educational tours. The upcoming familiarization trip will be a major step forward for Greece, and will provide much needed exposure to aid the declining Greek travel industry.
