Aeromexico presents 2003 initiatives at the 27th annual Tianguis Tourism Event in Acapulco
Aeromexico demonstrates that being both customer- and revenue-focused is not only possible, but strategic as it announces the addition of new in-flight services, routes and on-board equipment - all designed to improve and enhance the superior service the airline continues to deliver to its passengers. The airline`s senior management team made the series of announcements at the
27th annual Tianguis Tourism Event being held between March 31 and April 2, 2003 at the Acapulco Convention Center. Among the airlines` plans for 2003 are:
- New and Improved Service Routes. Based on opportunties and passenger demand, Aeromexico is introducing new service from Ontario (CA) to Los Cabos, commencing July 7. The airline is also adding a second daily flight between Chicago and Mexico City, commencing July 1; and rescheduling its Ontario (CA) to Guadalajara flight beginning May 9, to a more convenient time for travelers.
- AeroMexico Adds New Aircraft. Aeromexico will update its fleet with 15 Boeing 737-700s with winglets. The new aircraft, which will be delivered beginning in October 2003, will help to lower costs and improve profitability by creating operational efficiencies and reduce fuel consumption. By replacing some of its existing fleet with the new aircraft, AeroMexico will reduce the average age of its fleet from 15.9 years to 10.7 years.
- Integrated Airport Innovation Program. Integrated airport innovations program at Mexico City International Airport which includes enhanced check-in for Premier passengers with a Premier Lobby as well as technology enhancements which include an electronic paging system and computerized Aero Check -in to streamline documentation tasks.
- New In-Flight Menus. New on-board menus have been introduced this month to all Clase Premier passengers. These new menus have been created by Chef Thierry Blouet, well-known for creating meals with a unique blend of flavors and styles. Chef Blouet was awarded the Maitre Cuisiner de France medal, France`s most sought-after culinary award bestowed on top chefs.
- Automated External Defibrillators to be Introduced. Starting this year, Aeromexico will be the first Mexican airline to provide automated external defibrillator (AED) medical equipment on every aircraft in its fleet to help passengers that may suffer a heart attack during flight.
- That`s Entertainment. ase Premier passengers, particularly those on long-haul flights, will enjoy a more entertaining trip with the introduction of individual, portable DVD players for use in-flight.
