New spa and waterfront restaurant debut at Sunset Key Guest Cottages
A new spa and a full-service restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Mexico opened at Sunset Key Guest Cottages, a Westin Resort. The addition of the spa and restaurant follow the resort’s recent debut of two new four-bedroom, luxury guest cottages. The enhancements complete the already-extraordinary resort experience which has drawn travelers for over a decade to the enchanting island located just off Key West.
Sunset Key Guest Cottages is poised on the 27-acre island of Sunset Key and is accessible only by a 10-minute resort ferry from The Westin Key West Resort & Marina, offering guests a truly secluded hideaway. Each of the 39 custom-designed two-, three- and now four-bedroom cottages is fully equipped with the comforts of home, plus a variety of luxurious amenities. Guests enjoy attended beach services with tiki hut cabanas; a tropical free-form, zero-degree entry pool; two tennis courts; half basketball court, foot paths that lead guests around the island; and a new spa and waterfront restaurant.
The Spa at Sunset Key
Like the intimate island itself, the petite new spa is designed to cocoon guests with a secluded and highly personalized experience. Each of the spa’s three, spacious treatment suites feature a full bathroom with pre-stocked sundries, where guests can prepare for their services and may shower and dress afterward, in complete privacy. Individual suite patios surrounded by lush, tropical island vegetation allow guests to relax in seclusion after their treatments, and every appointment is reserved with an additional 25 minutes dedicated to that personal relaxation time.
A comprehensive treatment menu offers guests a selection of traditional and tropical body treatment, facial and touch therapy options, including couples massage. Highlights include: the Sun Burn Rescue Wrap which incorporates Dilo Nut, coconut oil and aloe for a super-charged healing skin cocktail; the Tropical Sugar Scrub which exfoliates the skin using a choice of tropical-infused sugars with cold pressed Fijian oils, combined with warm coconut milk; and the Blushing Rose Hydrating Facial that uses rose extracts to rejuvenate, moisturize and nourish dehydrated skin. Featured spa products, all of which are organic, are by Pure Fiji, Aromatherapy Associates, B. Kamins and Jane Iredale. Plush, heated treatment tables are located in each spa suite, as are spa robes, slippers and a supply of the indulgent Westin Heavenly Towel.
At the conclusion of each treatment, guests are presented with a glass of refreshing tropical fruit-infused water to enjoy while relaxing in the comfort of their spa suite or private patio. Guests may also enjoy the spa relaxation room which offers comfortable seating and a Tea Bar featuring a selection of hot and iced teas, fresh fruit, fruit-infused waters and shots of hot sipping chocolate. Hair styling and a full menu of manicures and pedicures are offered in the hair and nail suite. The Spa at Sunset Key is open daily from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Latitudes
Perched on Sunset Key’s sandy shoreline, Latitudes restaurant and lounge offers the best new location in the Keys to enjoy casual island fare with a Caribbean flair – and sweeping, unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico. Taking full advantage of its prime location, the restaurant is designed with an open floor plan to ensure that every table has a view, more than half the total seating is arranged outdoors on the patio and beach, and a wall of sliding glass doors at the front of the restaurant open to extend the alfresco atmosphere throughout.
