LAN Airlines announces that starting September 2, 2010, the company will initiate service to Paris, France. Once the required authorizations have been granted, LAN will offer three weekly flights in the Santiago, Chile-Madrid-Paris route aboard the modern Airbus A340.
This new route will be the third destination serviced by LAN Airlines and it’s affiliates in Europe providing services to Frankfurt and to Madrid and connecting those cities to Latin America’s principal cities.
“By adding Paris to our portfolio of flight options, we are connecting France and Chile to the major cities in the region. This new route will facilitate the further development of tourism and business travel. In turn, passengers traveling from Peru and Ecuador to Madrid will also have the ease-of-travel-option to continue their travel to Paris aboard LAN. For our import and export customers, this also represents an efficient and reliable alternative," said Armando Valdivieso, LAN’s CEO, Passenger division.
LAN will operate this route onboard an Airbus A340 which seats 263 passengers. These aircraft have the new Premium Business class luxuries that include full flat seats that recline 180° for a horizontal and comfortable sleeping option. Only a select international airlines offer their passengers this travel option. LAN cabins also feature a fully-renovated Economy travel class. In both travel classes, LAN offers the latest onboard entertainment system.
From Santiago, the company will service the Paris route through the Charles de Gaulle International Airport and will offer flights from Santiago on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays returning on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
