Four of Dolce Hotels and Resorts’ properties, Lakeway Resort and Spa in Texas, Aspen Meadows Resort in Colorado, Dolce Hayes Mansion in California and Dolce Sitges in Spain, have been ranked amongst the world’s best hotels in this year’s Expedia Insiders’ Select list.
The list formally recognises individual hotels worldwide that “consistently deliver excellent service, a great overall experience and a notable value.” The full list represents a small percentage of the world’s top hotels from the 110,000 hotels listed on expedia.com, the online travel site used by millions of travellers each month.
The 2010 Expedia Insiders’ Select list was compiled using a formula that evaluated three key factors: 1) more than one million traveller reviews submitted by Expedia customers after a stay; 2) a value rating that compares each hotel’s average daily rate to similar properties, assessing their relative value; and 3) the expertise of more than 400 Expedia market managers located across the globe.
“Delivering superior service, outstanding cuisine and a memorable experience are the top priorities of all Dolce hotels, resorts and conference hotels,” said Richard Maxfield, Dolce chief operating officer. "We are pleased that our efforts have been acknowledged by Expedia travellers, who confirm our impressive scores from independent satisfaction surveys.”
Lakeway Resort and Spa, nestled on the shore of Lake Travis (18 miles northwest of downtown Austin) offers sailing, water sports, tennis, championship golf, fine dining and the San Saba Spa. Accommodation includes 173 guest rooms, suites and villas. Hotel facilities also include a sports bar and grill, fitness centre, three outdoor pools, a whirlpool, a children’s programme and marina.
Dolce manages the Aspen Meadows Resort in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains on behalf of The Aspen Institute. Designed in the Bauhaus style of architecture and encompassing 40 acres in Aspen along the Roaring Fork River, the resort caters to groups and vacationers, offering a wide variety of recreation, from skiing to fly fishing.
Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, a 100 year old former private estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features Spanish Colonial Revival-style architecture and provides a quiet haven for relaxation 45 minutes from San Francisco and Monterey and nearby the region’s wineries and championship golf. Hotel facilities include two restaurants, a lounge, fitness centre, outdoor pool, tennis courts and a day spa that offers ‘Being Signature Massages’.
Dolce Sitges, 35 minutes from the centre of Barcelona overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, features the full-service Dolce Vital Spa, state-of-the-art fitness centre, three distinctive restaurants and bars, four outdoor pools, an indoor ozonized pool, Finnish sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The seaside town of Sitges is popular for its beaches, nightspots and historical sites.
