New in 2010 is the Journalists` Business Travel Journalist of the Year Award, which will be voted for by business travel journalists. A shortlist of nominees will be publicised in advance and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony following a confidential ballot.
“A journalist voted category will be a worthy addition to this year`s awards,” said Dominic Ponsford, chairman of the judging panel and editor of Press Gazette. “Journalism is a competitive business, and there is not better accolade than to be recognised by your peers.”
Another new category will recognise designers for the first time in the awards` history. Designer of the Year will be presented to the best designer for best creative and engaging design or artwork relating to business travel features.
The new categories are not the only change for the awards in 2010, as this year the Business Travel Journalism Awards are taking place at the stylish May Fair Hotel in the heart of central London on 18 November 2010.
In addition, this year`s judging panel for the first time will include journalists alongside travel buyers and industry representatives to ensure the most fair and informed decision-making process.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2010 Business Travel Journalism Awards until 10 September 2010. Journalists, publishers and designers need to follow the simple nomination process by visiting www.businesstraveljournalismawards.co.uk to fill out the brief form and upload two pieces of coverage published in the past 12 months.
