Beijing travel trade not panicking from the reappearance of SARS
The travel trade here is monitoring the impact of the reappearance of SARS, but is not alarmed. The problem is how the overseas press reacts to this, said Liu Shehong, deputy manager of CTI`s Europe Inbound department.

She admitted that it would have some influence on some markets at least, like the American market.

The American market suffered the biggest loss last year, and we haven`t seen clear recovery signs till now.

But she said that Europe appears more optimistic.

Northern Europe is in a slack season, so it won`t be influenced much at this moment.

The World Health Organisation said yesterday that it`s not necessary to raise the alarm in Beijing. They commended the Chinese government`s quick response and information sharing on the outbreak. Theodore Koumelis - Wednesday, April 28, 2004
