More European no-frills carriers move to Sabre Travel Network
Sabre Travel Network has further increased the number of European no-frills carriers bookable in the Sabre global distribution system (GDS). helvetic, Smart Wings and Niki who operate from Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Austria respectively, have signed for full Sabre participation, making their full content available to all Sabre Connected travel agents.
Simon Riha, Smart Wings’ project manager said: “When we started to look at marketing our airline beyond our home base, Sabre Travel Network was the obvious GDS to work with. Sabre’s strength in every distribution channel makes it the most attractive offering for us, as it enables us to maximise our reach to different European and global markets.”
Stuart Nassos, Sabre Travel Network’s vice-president of strategic marketing and sales said: “The number of new carriers that have chosen Sabre distribution over the past year clearly reflects the value the GDS brings to airlines and travel agents. No-frills content is a priority for us, as it is a key need for our travel agency customers, and it will be even more crucial once deregulation moves to Europe.”.
