Cheapflights appoints COO and strengthens management team for its second successful decade

With ten years of profitable growth, Cheapflights Ltd. is committed to strengthening and restructuring its senior management team to accelerate the next period of growth.

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr David (`Dave`) Owczarek as group Chief Operating Officer, based in the UK and reporting to the CEO, David Soskin. Mr Owczarek`s responsibilities will include the execution of technical development and product improvements in both the US and UK markets. Hugo Burge, who has been undertaking the role of COO for the past five years as well as heading up Cheapflights` USA operation, Cheapflights.com, for the past 30 months, has been promoted to the position of Vice Chairman and Head of International and will continue his role in the US pending the appointment of a US General Manager.

Mr Owczarek brings extensive experience in Internet operations and product development, having held senior positions in a number of Internet services companies, including Trellix, focused on providing web hosting, application hosting and site development services to small and large businesses.

Mr Owczarek`s achievements include the development of DellHost, a fully outsourced and private-labeled shared and dedicated web hosting solution built for Dell Computer Corporation in 2000 and subsequently sold to Sprint; the US launch of monster.com and the deployment of the UK, Australian and Canadian versions of the product; and an outsourced web design and hosting service for Verizon. A Boston native, Mr Owczarek is a graduate of George Washington University, Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

As a frequent speaker at Internet World and ISPCON on high performance web site architectures and web server performance tuning and analysis, Mr Owczarek brings market intelligence and superior Internet services knowledge to Cheapflights.
