Millennium and Copthorne Hotels announces the opening of its first property in Egypt, the Coral Beach Diving Hotel. Millennium will also manage the Millennium Hotel Doha in Qatar, which is scheduled to open in September 2006.

Millennium Raises Flag in Prestigious Area of Port Ghalib, Egypt

In July 2005, Millennium and Copthorne Hotels opened the Coral Beach Diving Hotel, the first resort in Egypt`s newest resort area, Port Ghalib. Located only minutes from the new Marsa Alam International Airport, the resort features 206 rooms and suites (120 currently open, with another 86 expected in October), a main buffet restaurant called Indigo, Shark Bites poolside snack bar, two bars called 50 and Viz, 24-hour room service, two large swimming pools on two levels, a gymnasium, children`s pool and Kids Club.

Situated on the promenade of the Port Ghalib International Marina, the resort is ideal for scuba divers and snorkelers, offering its own PADI-registered on-site dive school, underground classroom with observation windows, dive boats, equipment and a dive shop. There is also a specialized diving pool for instruction in three-meter diving.

The accommodations include twin rooms, family suites, junior suites and king suites. Each guest room features fully adjustable air-conditioning, private bath and shower, a private balcony or patio with garden or sea views, satellite TV in several languages, direct dial telephone and amenities such as in-room safes, mini-bars and hairdryers.

The Port Ghalib area represents a new stylish choice among international tourism destinations in the Middle East. With mild weather year-round and proximity to both Luxor and Aswan, this new community of hotels, residential properties, entertainment and shopping offers an ideal mix of sun, sea and Egypt`s famous antiquities.

The Coral Beach Diving Hotel joins Millennium`s collection of over 90 global properties which include the landmark Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles and the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City. A luxury hotel and residential project in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, is also in the works and is set to become Millennium`s second venture in the country.

Millennium First in Doha, Qatar

In September of 2006, the Millennium Doha Hotel will open in the capital city of Qatar. Millennium`s new hotel in Doha will feature 250 rooms, spacious conference and meeting facilities, leisure facilities such as a health club and indoor pool, both of which will be located on the rooftop of the hotel. At lobby level there will be all-day dining and a rooftop terrace restaurant.

Among the rooms are: five Presidential Suites, seven Diplomatic Suites, seven Executive Suites and two floors of Executive Club rooms with exclusive access to a Club Lounge. For longer-stay guests, the hotel will provide several one and two-bedroom apartments.

The hotel is located in the diplomatic and commercial area of the city adjacent to a park and a major new shopping mall. The capital of Qatar, Doha is situated halfway down the east coast of the peninsula. It is an important cultural and commercial center.
