Cruise to success event by VisitBritain
Friday, September 16, 2005
CruiseUK, the voluntary marketing group dedicated to promoting Britain to the Cruise industry and led by VisitBritain, have announced the first national cruise conference “Cruise to Success”. The event will take place on 20th October 2005 at the St David’s Hotel in Cardiff and is aimed at providing the British cruise industry a platform for discussion and networking around the fastest growing leisure travel sector.

The conference will address some of the burning issues that face the cruise community in the UK and offer insights into some of the challenges that can be overcome by developing closer ties with their partners. Topics presented on include the future or Cruise Shipping and its impact on the British cruise population and consumer influences upon the choice of cruise and its impact on marketing. Presentations will be followed by an extensive Q and A session and the afternoon will focus on a case study from CruiseWales as well as enable delegates to enhance their contacts via networking with key industry players and contemporaries.

Jeremy Brinkworth, project director at CruiseUK said:

While the UK cruise market grew by a healthy 9% this year, CruiseUK are convinced that by working together we can gain a greater share of the cruise market for Britain. The “Cruise to Success” conference is an important milestone in reaching this goal

Whether delegates are interested in gaining a foothold in the market and are unsure how to proceed, or are established in the cruise market and want to increase your profile, the “Cruise to Success” conference is there to help. they will have temporary and minimal effect and the situation will stabilize in a year or two

we should be looking at a restructuring in the international tourism movements and trends

it is still too early to access the impact on world tourism, medium or long term

we will see more tourism closer to home, and less international travel
