REPORT - BEIRUT. The Arab World Travel and Tourism Exchange 2005 opened its doors on September 29 at BIEL Center in Beirut, under the patronage of HE Joseph Sarkis, Minister of Tourism in Lebanon.
The Arab World Travel and Tourism Exchange is an important event in the travel trade calendar in the Middle East, presenting what countries in the region can offer to tourism professionals worldwide.
AWTTE, which takes place annually in October, has been growing steadily by a 20% increase whether in the number of visitors or exhibiting space alike. National pavilions registered at this year` s edition of the show up till the moment are Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Qatar, Tunisia, Turkey and Lebanon, with Qatar as the 2005 Guest Country.
AWTTE- Organized by Iktissad Wal-Aamal Group and the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with Middle East Airlines - is a proper frame for the people in the industry to meet and exchange expertise, ideas and to unveil their new strategies of work. It contributes in the touristic exchange between the Arab and non Arab countries as well as initiates tourism investments.
