Agriculture sightseeing fashionable in Harbin
Wednesday, October 26, 2005
Go to the suburb at weekend. That becomes a fashion for city residents in Harbin who would like to walk around farmlands and pick some fresh fruits into their basket.

As a big province of agriculture industry, Heilongjiang has chosen some farming bases over the past two years as agricultural tourist spots, in a way to promote tourism. More people get to know agricultural sightseeing and such tours become more popular over the time.

In Harbin`s Wanbao Town, tourists come to the Dongjin Grapevine Ecological Farmland. They can not only appreciate the natural farm view but also brew some dry red wine themselves. Tour guides provide detailed illustration to help people to get a thorough understanding of grapes. The grapevine garden now receives 3,000 people everyday.

In October, nearly 10,000 tourists went to the Beifang Xianhua Urban Agriculture Land where people can attend some interesting activities such as treasure digging, smart quiz and fresh fruit picking. Children in cities came to experience labor work and senior people had a relaxed and healthy life. The land also attracted hundreds of newly-weds to take pictures so as to record their happy moment.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
