A new strategic cooperation agreement<.> signed recently by Cyprus Airways and Northwest Airlines brings the Cypriot state carrier one step closer to full membership in one of the world`s four airline alliances - Northwest, KLM, Alitalia, Continent.
The 8-year agreement gives Northwest`s passengers a common Northwest-Cyprus code for flights from he U.S. to Larnaca via Amsterdam.
A second phase in the agreement adds the Cyprus Airlines` code to all Northwest flights between Cyprus and the U.S. All these flight possibilities will be added to international booking systems.
Cyprus Airways adds that the airline will carry passengers from all points in the eastern Mediterranean area to the central airports of all members of the alliance.
