Industry leaders confirm support for Adventure Travel&Sports Show
Thursday, December 22, 2005
Two of Australia’s adventure travel companies, Peregrine Adventures and Intrepid Travel have confirmed their support for next years Adventure Travel & Sports Show by booking space at the event.

Scheduled for the 5-7 May 2006, Adventure Travel & Sports Show will be held in Sydney at the Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park Precinct (formerly Fox Studios). The Adventure show will be co-located with the Luxury Travel Show, which is being held in the adjacent Hordern Pavilion.

Produced by Mark Harvey, Group Events Director for Showtime Events, the Adventure Travel & Sports Show is a niche exhibition for the adventure industry. Following latest industry trends, the Show will provide suppliers of specialized travel within the adventure segment with a much more focused marketing platform.

“Worldwide trends indicate that the one size fits all travel show is becoming a thing of the past” said travel show veteran Harvey.

“Adventure Travel is one of the fastest growing categories within the Travel industry, yet often true adventure travel represents a small proportion of exhibitors at traditional travel shows. By targeting nothing but Adventure travel, we can deliver a specific target audience to the event, which other shows simply cannot.”

The show has been modelled on the hugely successful Adventure Travel & Sports Show in the UK and the Adventures in Travel Shows throughout the USA.

Targeting an AB audience, 30 – 55 age group with high discretionary income, the Show will bring together a wide range of adventure travel options including adventure tours, destinations, eco-tourism and nature experiences as well as activity focused travel including camping, kayaking, rock climbing, skiing, hiking, scuba diving, mountain bike riding and even adventure racing.

“Our target audience profile has been developed by speaking to a cross section of market leaders in Adventure travel and gathering intelligence on who is buying adventure travel. With this information, we have been able to develop a pretty targeted marketing campaign that will deliver the right type of buyers” said Harvey

The show will hold a trade day on the first day for travel agents and corporate and incentive buyers with the final two days open to consumers searching for adventure travel ideas.
