Radisson SAS opens hotel in Dubai`s media hub
Tuesday, January 17, 2006
Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, part of the Brussels-based Rezidor SAS Hospitality, is back in business in Dubai with the opening of the first tower of its ‘New Breed’ property in the heart of the emirate’s emerging global media hub.

“Since the property is within walking distance from most companies located here, it will serve as a perfect meeting point during and after business-hours, while at weekends it will offer a pleasant place to stay for our customers,” said Siegfried Nierhaus, General Manager, Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Media City.

The first tower at Radisson SAS Hotel, will be named Dubai Media City.

“By combining attentive one-to-one hospitality with clever service concepts, we will provide a unique experience for our clients with our ‘Yes I Can’ service attitude,” added Nierhaus.

The property will have two towers linked by a first floor bridge. The second tower is set to open in mid 2006. The design concept was created by Singapore-based IMA interiors, which specialises in boutique hotels and high-end residential developments.

“Individually-designed themed rooms and a new focus on architecture as well as stylish bars and restaurants are the cornerstones of the new breed properties,” explained Nierhaus.

“With ten-meeting rooms, free broadband throughout the hotel, an executive lounge and a fully equipped business centre, the hotel will have all the necessary services for international corporate travellers coming to Dubai.”

Poll
How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
