OA to adopt cutback in flights

Set to adopt a cutback in flights, as well as a temporary interruption in loss producing flights, state-owned Olympic Airways, OA<.> said that the move is a result of a sharp decline in passenger traffic since the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11th.

Following the September 11th tragic events and the chaotic situation, which has emerged in the world aviation industry, an emergency plan was announced the Greek State carrier and which concerns a 20 percent cutback in flights as opposed to 2000 would adopt that. Moreover, a temporary interruption in loss producing flights is foreseen combined with a drop in flights with transatlantic destinations.

Other airlines operating in Greece such as Aegean, Cronus, Axon Airline are also set to adopt similar cutbacks, as is Cypriot Airlines.
