Preussag donates DM 1 million for the education of orphans of the terrorist attacks in the USA
Thursday, October 25, 2001
Hanover, Germany - Preussag<.> supports the victims of the terrorist attacks in the USA with a donation of DM 1 million. The donation has been made to the German American Solidarity Fund and is intended for the education of children and young people orphaned by the terrorist attacks.

When we look at the victims of these atrocities, it is easy to overlook a group of people who, while not directly affected, will nonetheless suffer the consequences of this catastrophe for many years to come. I am thinking of the young people and children who have lost one or both parents, says executive board chairman Dr Michael Frenzel. By supporting their education, we can make a contribution to giving them back a new chance in life.

How do you expect luxury travel to perform in times of economic downturn?.

Providers of luxury travel products are going to witness shorter stays by their customers and an increase in seasonality.

People are going to become more value conscious and will opt for those luxury offers that represent a convincing value-for-money proposition. Providers of overpriced services are those to feel the pinch.

Both people paying for their personal trips and firms paying for their top executives' business trips will cut back on travel expenses, thus affecting all luxury travel providers.

It is going to be business as usual. Those people opting for high-end travel products are not going to be affected by the looming crisis.
