Once again, Stockholm proves to be the Capital of Scandinavia. For the fourth year running Stockholm rank amongst the top ten destinations in the world for international meetings. This shows Stockholm is a competitive player in the international congress market together with world-class cities such as Vienna, Singapore, Hong Kong and Paris.

The ranking is made each year by ICCA - International Congress & Convention Association and is based on the number of international meetings carried out in the city.

Stockholm is a wonderful city, which can cater for tens of thousands of delegates, in terms of accommodation and infrastructure. The City of Stockholm and Stockholm International Fairs work very well together in attracting some of the world`s major events.

Stockholm International Fairs hosted the European Society of Cardiology Congress, the largest medical meeting in Europe with almost 25,000 delegates in 2005 and Stockholm was chosen over Barcelona as the venue for the Annual Congress of the European Respiratory Society in 2007. This is the third largest European medical congress and is expected to draw approximately 15,000 delegates.
