Friday, June 09, 2006
EL AL launches the only nonstop service between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv on July 23, 2006. The nonstop flights will operate three times a week, year round, on Boeing 777 aircraft and EL AL flight will depart L.A. every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.

This is the first time that EL AL has offered year round nonstop service between L.A. and Israel, thereby increasing the capacity from L.A. by 40%. In addition to the three nonstop flights, EL AL is also operating twice weekly direct flights on a 767 aircraft, every Monday and Wednesday.

“EL AL recognizes the demand that exists on the West Coast for more frequent, expedient and convenient travel options from L.A. to Israel. We are proud to offer visitors from the West Coast this time-saving service while providing luxury and comfort for such unprecedented value,” stated Bill Gale, West Coast Regional Manager, EL AL Israel Airlines. “The introduction of EL AL nonstop flights from Los Angeles is in line with EL AL’s strategy to serve more destinations with the best product by offering point-to-point nonstop service.”

Poll
How is the use of biofuels by the aviation industry going to affect the environment?

It will be a positive step towards fighting climate change, as the aviation industry will be able to reduce its C02 emissions.

It will be positive for the environment but it will cause huge problems in other industries such as the food industry, especially in food supply.

It will have a negative impact as the widespread planting and use of biofuel crops could threaten the natural ecosystems.

It will harm the environment as carbon savings from biofuels are negligible.
