Germanwings see significant increase in passengers numbers

More passengers and a steadily high seat load factor marked Germanwings’ course also in May 2006. The German low-cost airline carried in total 642,745 passengers last month, compared with 445,480 passengers in April 2005, an increase translated into 44.3%! On a high level remained also the seat-load factor of Germanwings flights that neared in May 82%, slightly decreased compared with the same period last year (83.4% in May 2005).
The number of passengers that chose Germanwings was significantly increased in May, compared with the same month last year, stated Dr. Joachim Klein, Chairman of the Directory Board of Germanwings. We thus managed once more, and in spite of the difficult economic environment, to sell successfully to the market our increased offer. Furthermore, with nearly 82% we were in a position to keep our flights’ seat load factor steadily over the 80%-mark, continued Dr. Klein.
