Embraer`s Legacy is certified in Indonesia
Wednesday, June 21, 2006
The Legacy 600 executive jet has received type certification from the Directorate General of Air Communications, the Indonesian airworthiness authority. Embraer delivered one Legacy 600 jet to Jakarta-based PT Ekspres Transportasi Antarbenua (Premiair) with this certification, and will deliver the second Legacy 600 in September to another undisclosed company in the country.

The certification campaign in Indonesia was based on the Brazilian authority Centro Tecnico Aeroespacial’s (CTA) certification documents, with some changes made to the Legacy 600’s flight manual to conform to local measurement standards.

The Legacy 600 super mid-size business jet was certified by the CTA in December 2001. The certification by Europe’s Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) was obtained in July 2002 and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification followed, that September.

In 2003 the aircraft was certified by the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee. In the United Kingdom, authorization was granted for the Legacy 600 to operate at London City Airport in 2004, where it is the largest business jet in terms of cabin size with permission to take off and land.

Indonesia is the 18th country where the Legacy 600 operates. There are presently 74 Legacy 600 jets flying worldwide.
